The rise of the Born Free,

through radical expression, supported by the known and known unknowns.

On the 22nd of January 2020, Zimbabwe Human Rights Organization (ZHRO) met for another pre planned vigil protest outside the Zimbabwe Embassy in London.  On this day, the occupants of Zimbabwe House at 429 the Strand definitely heard the protesting, which included songs and banners that insult the Zimbabwean Regime and messages pleading for help from the international community as Zimbabweans are dying, as a result of the silent Genocide being promulgated by Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (ZANU PF) and its proxies.

Those gathered were protesting this week, in solidarity with what looked like demonstrations in Zimbabwe by school children from Njube High School in Bulawayo.  In the same week, Mnangagwa and his whole ZANU PF was snubbed by the UK Prime minister Boris Johnson's Government from the UK Africa Summit. Later in the week there was what looked like a wild cat demonstration by Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) members and Mthuli Ncube, making a mockery of himself by showing that Tendai Biti was right when he said, "Mthuli has no connection between his brain and his mouth."

The week started on Monday with the brave students, mere children, showing that they have hearts like that of David who slain Goliath, by taking to the streets and making their voices heard, against the current and ongoing denial of their Fundamental Human Rights to Education by the ZANU PF regime.  Singing revolutionary songs that chime both outside the Embassy and in Zimbabwe alike, they too sung in defiance of the military Junta and put their lives on the line.

With banners that read, "This is for every Zimbabwean Child".  Their teacher (who is now in hiding) said, "they are expressing their right to education, which is fundamental, according to the declaration of Human Rights. They have declared, their voice has spoken.  I think in Zimbabwe we have one generation that has been lost, but definitely, this generation is going to speak. The fundamental message behind (the students actions) is that you cannot ignore the education system, you cannot ignore the teachers, you cannot ignore the student.  Once we do that, the future generation suffers." The scenes were similar to the Soweto Uprising of 16 June 1976 during apartheid South Africa.

On the same day, Monday 20th January, as previously covered by numerous Zimbabwean and international media outlets, the whole of the ZANU PF regime had been snubbed by Borris Johnson from attending the UK Africa Summit.  Highly likely as a result of continued corruption, deprivation of fundamental Human Rights and the continued commiting of human rights abuses by the Junta running Zimbabwe. This probably shows that Mnangagwa's open for business new dispensation is being seen as open for repression, new deception.  Thus likely showing that the protests are being heard in the corridors of power including in the UN security council.

On Thursday the 23rd of January 2020, ZINASU demonstrated outside the offices of the Ministry of Tertiary and Higher Education in Harare, over the high priced fees being charged in Universities.  Singing songs such as Ndine Chido Chekusunungura Zimbabwe (I have the will to Liberate Zimbabwe) and other new era born free (born after 18 April 1980) liberation songs, they made noise and their message was as clear as day.  The fee increases that have lead to them and others not attending school, are not at all wanted as this is the killer of dreams.  This was likely in solidarity with the earlier strike of the Njube High School students.

In other News

Mthuli Ncube went all the way to Davos for the World Economic Forum.  Whilst there he announced his planned introduction of higher denominations for his and ZANU PF'S failed new currency experiment.  Fortunately the interviewers turned his proposed press peacock time into grillings, where he showed his inability to have compassion for ordinary Zimbabweans suffering caused by his self made economic collapse and his general ineptitude in "Economics Real" to the whole world.

The trial of popular, outspoken, firebrand, Honorable Member of Parliament, Job Wiwa Sikhala from the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has been postponed.  Reports are that the prosecution (From ZANU PF ranks) is not yet ready, however, looking from afar, one can see that the Junta does not want the youth to take to the streets en mass at the same time as Wiwa and his supporters.

Thanks to Ebson Chigwedere who played the drums, John Burke who arrived early to set up, Tinashe Aliseni who posted on Twitter.  Nehemiah Musonza whose base when singing brings warmth to the proceedings, Thank you too, to Rashiwe Bayisayi who led most of the singing along with Molly Ngavaimbe.  Thanks also go to Rashiwe Bayisayi who drove all the way from the South of England together with John Burke with the drums and other equipment for the Vigil.  All who attended are also thanked very much for coming on such a cold day.

15 January 2020 ZHRO Wednesday Vigil Protest

ZANU PF Snubbed by U.K.
Gorilla Tactics Used

Zimbabwe Human Rights Organisation (ZHRO) members met on Wednesday 15th January 2020 for a pre-planned peaceful, Vigil Protest at 429 the Strand in London.  They were protesting against the lack of human rights in Zimbabwe caused by the tyrannical and calamitous ruling Junta, Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Fronts (ZANU PF), treatment of Citizens.

They gathered to protest against the continued false narratives peddled, the blatant lack of human rights, and showed that indeed whilst protesting, they are adept in the Gorilla Tactics of Ambushing targets whilst in the process of Peaceful, Civil Disobedience.

The most recent fruits of the ZANU PF's media machines false Narratives (of making themselves look like Angels and Holier than thou) is their being Snubbed by the United Kingdom's (UK) Prime Minister Borris Johnston, who is hosting the Africa Summit in London.  In the context of being snubbed from the Africa summit, John Burke in an informal interview on Zimeye said, "if they don't know the reasons they haven't been invited, then they are more Stupid than I thought they were."

https://www.newsday.co.zw/2020/01/uk-snubs-ed-govt/

The deterioration of Human Rights in Zimbabwe has been further magnified by the blatant threat by Energy Mutodi who is the Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services.  He threatened to "send Soldiers to shoot to kill protesters."  Mutodi has received a rebuke from senior MDC Deputy Chairman and Parliamentarian Job Wiwa Sikhala who is on trial this month January 2020, for treasonous charges of, apparently subverting an elected Government.

The charges on Wiwa are linked to a video shot during a weekend rally.  During the rally he is alleged to have said, "We are going to take the fight to the doorsteps of Emmerson Mnangagwa, we are going to overthrow him before 2023, that's not a joke."  This may be seen as the ultimate Freedom of Speech trial Zimbabwe needs to possibly cement the right to free speech for all Zimbabweans, especially when talking about the President and ZANU PF whilst in Zimbabwe.

It has been reliably reported by the Zimbabwe Human Rights Forum (ZHRF) that it was around this time last year (January and February 2019), that Zimbabwe saw some of her Darkest Days since Independence.  They included 1803 (One Thousand Eight Hundred and Three) Human Rights Abuses, including 17 (Seventeen) Extra-Judicial Killings.  There were 51 cases of the arrest and Detention of Children, their torture, assault and bundling up with adults throughout their most of their ordeals.
The use before, during and after this period of Rape as a weapon, is unfortunately said to be continuing.

This was most recently highlighted first by the ZHRF, and then by the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on Human Rights who visited Zimbabwe in September 2019.  This goes against the Convention that Zimbabwe signed and Ratified CEDAW.

The Vigil protest singing was gallantly led by Jenatry Muranganwa who was full of energy and jeered up the crowd to make noise with the upbeat songs he selected.  His partnering up with the drumming of Ebson Chigwedere showed that today, the men had come to protest for the rights of the Children and Women of Zimbabwe.  Also to remember those lost and the Civil and Human Rights battles that are to come ahead.

The signal to protest has been heeded by ZHRO members, (who sent a message (to ZANU PF) on Facebook saying, "we are watching") and have been asked by (ZHRO) members to up their antics.  Yesterday, they risked their lives, by temporarily blocking the Ambassador from leaving by jumping around and protesting in front of his car, a crime in Zimbabwe, which could get you arrested, assaulted, tortured and only God knows what else the Junta Regime would do to those who would dare do the same in Zimbabwe.

Thanks to Ebson Chigwedere and Jenatry Muranganwa whose pairing up really jeered the Vigil and created an atmosphere conducive to protesting.  Thank you to Junior Madzimure, Rangarirai Chivaviro, Oswell Mawodza and Benjamin Chigamba for helping to set up.  Thank you to Philip Mahlahla for taking the photos, to Tinashe Aliseni for manning the Twitter account, and John Burke for bringing all the banners and other utensils for the Vigil, all the way from the South of England.  Thank you too, to all who attended for getting involved with the singing on such a cold and windy day.  Without you this day would not have happened at all.

ZHRO Wednesday Vigil
8 January 2020
UN Reports.  Power Grabs.
Mthuli and Mutodi have no Connections to Brain

In the second Wednesday pre-planned Vigil protest of the year, Zimbabwe Human Rights Organization ( ZHRO) members met and made some serious noise.  They were outside the Zimbabwe Embassy at 429 The Strand London, near the Charing Cross Tube and Main line train Station.  ZHRO members were protesting against the continued barbaric stripping of Human Rights, by the Junta Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (ZANU PF) so called Government, who have been systematically engaged in this horrible and despicable activity in Zimbabwe for some 40 years in April 2020.  The sad thing is that they did not and still do not seem to care how ordinary people are affected by their actions or inactions, for as long as they are living large.

As reported by Zimeye and other media outlets, 2019 saw Zimbabwe get 3 (three) extremely dire
United Nations (UN) reports, regarding Human Rights violations.  The UN reports, coupled with over half the population being pushed into severe abject poverty by the Finance Minister, Mthuli Ncube’s Failed Economic policies have left the Zimbabwen population at the mercy of the ZANU PF Junta.

The manner in which the Zimbabwean people are at the mercy of this ruthless regime, when seen in the context of Human Rights, will more than likely leave Most Human Rights experts fearing for the worst, in regards to the welfare of the ordinary Citizen.  The experts will attest to the fact that, the more deprived a people is, the more vulnerable they are to Rights abuses including summary executions especially at the hands of State Actors.

Thus, when one looks at Zimbabwe, it is clear to see, from the context of Economics Principles in Practice terms, “Mthuli indeed has no connection between his brain and his mouth,” as said by Tendai Biti (Zimbabwes most successful finance minister in the last 20 years) outside Chatham House London in early 2019.  It is some 7 months after Biti said this and since then, Honourable Biti’s assertions seem to have been proved correct in every way when looking at the economy even from a childs point of view.

To prove that Zimbabweans really are in very, very, big trouble, during the trial of the Myanmar Government for atrocities they committed against the Rohinger, Zimbabwe was the only African country to vote on the side of the Myanmar Army and against resolutions to protect Rohingya Muslims.  In the whole world, it seems,Zimbabwe is one of just 9 backward countries.  This should not be a surprise to most Human Rights activists from Zimbabwe, as it is generally known that Zimbabwe has not Ratified or signed the treaties against, arbitrary arrests, torture, summery execution and rape as a weapon of War.

Other News

ZANU PF leader, E D Mnangagwa has moved to consolidate his power.  This is despite over 80% of Zimbabweans participating in the drafting of the constitution less than 8 years ago.  Thus as the award winning journalist Hopewell Chin'ono has said in one of his blogs in the link below, WAKE UP ZIMBABWE.

https://www.facebook.com/daddyhope/videos/10157623829039597/?d=n
https://www.timeslive.co.za/news/africa/2020-01-06-mnangagwa-moves-to-consolidate-presidential-power-in-zimbabwe/

Keeping to the topic of Mnangagwa again, he seems to have inadvertently incriminated himself.  This was in a video shot by the state broadcaster Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC).  He is heard saying that he would send in the army to roundup and beat people.  Considering the post election violence in August of 2018 and the violence which followed in 2019 January and February, the grab for more power seems to be emanating from a place of known and unknown consequences.

https://www.facebook.com/566679596/posts/10157614492999597/?d=n

In light of the above and in the background, ZHRO members have been pushing for the ZHRO Leadership's endorsement of more radical protests in 2020, for which, meetings are in the process of being planned.  Members are encouraged to participate in the meetings and planning of these protests.

Breaking News

Energy Mutodi has made a bould Statement on behalf of his party ZANU PF, who think they are the governing party in Zimbabwe.  He has said "We will not hesitate to shoot to kill protesters."  From this, it is clear that the Government is fret of the people.  It is fret of the leneard people and Mutodi only knows one thing.  Bleating without thinking!  Threatening to kill people, would mean, if even one is injured, not even killed, even that injury would have been premeditated by the Government of Zimbabwe.

Thanks to Ebson Chigwedere who played the drums, John Burke, Phillip Malhalha and Thabo Makuyana who arrived early to set up.  Thank you too to Chegika lifa Phiri, Molly Ngavaimbe and Jenatry Muranganwa for all at some point leading the vigil protest.  Thank you too to all who attended for getting involved with the singing on such a cold and windy day.  Without you this day would not have happened at all.

ZHRO Wednesday Vigil 1 January 2020

ZHRO Vigil, 1 Jan 2020, Photo By Tinashe Aliseni
Zimbabwe Human Rights Organisation (ZHRO)  met on the 1st of January 2020.  This was the first planned Vigil Demonstration and Wednesday of the new decade at 429 The Strand London, outside the infamous Zimbabwean Embassy.  They met to protest against the injustices, Human Rights Violations and ongoing debilitating Humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe.
Understandably, with the day being a UK Bank Holiday, all trains were running a reduced or delayed service.  Some were even cancelled.  On arrival, those that were gathered were quick to start conversing about the dire situation in Zimbabwe.

One of the major topics, was of the little publicity that Vendors especially those in Harare were getting during the Christmas and New Year period.

https://news.pindula.co.zw/2019/12/28/harare-city-council-set-to-intensify-raids-on-vendors/

As reported on Pindula's Twitter page, on the 31st of December 2019, Informal traders (vendors) operating from the streets of Harare have vowed to stay put until the government creates employment opportunities for them.  This was in response to them being harassed by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).

https://news.pindula.co.zw/2019/12/31/vendors-vow-to-stay-on-the-streets-of-harare/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

The ZRP and other known proxies of Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (ZANU PF)  had earlier in the day and on the night of the 30th of December 2019, been boasting about having harrased and moved on a number of traders from where they (the traders and vendors) make as honest a living as possible.  Given the previous well published deaths in custody at the hands of the same ZRP, following torturous treatment, arbitrary breaches of basic human rights, without repercussions, ZHRO is keeping a close eye on developments.

https://nehandaradio.com/2019/10/19/vendor-assaulted-by-police-dies-in-custody/

One would have expected the ZRP and the ZANU PF to be at least a little understanding to the plight of Zimbabweans instead of being blinkered and set in their ways of violence, looting and repression.

Other news.

According to  Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) the hunger the country is facing will likely persist until 2021.

https://www.facebook.com/1787454934855899/posts/2535812853353433/?d=n

Thus statements made by one Zimbabwean Member of Parliament, Mayor Justice Wadyajena have been more than concerning.  "They just don't care about anything or anyone else but themselves," said one of the ZHRO members gathered and this point was received with nods of agreement by others in small talk before and after the vigil.

https://news.pindula.co.zw/2019/12/25/its-your-responsibility-to-put-food-on-the-table-not-zanu-pf-mp/

The above human rights abuses and the ongoing inability of the Zimbabwe ruling ZANU PF Junta, who are now called, "the new Deception" and not the new Dispensation, as they like to call themselves.  ZHRO members also made clear their concerns regarding the international community's soft ear for the Zimbabwe ruling Junta, especially from some countries that are in the UN Security Council, the EU and especially the UK.

In light of the above and in the background, ZHRO members have been pushing for the ZHRO Leadership's endorsement of more radical protests in 2020, for which, meetings are in the process of being planned.

Thanks to Ebson Chigwedere who played the drums, John Burke who arrived early to set up, Tinashe Aliseni who posted on Twitter, Kingstone Jambawo who posts on Facebook and helped set up the banners.  Nehemiah Musonza whose base when singing brings warmth to the proceedings, Thank you too, to Rashiwe Bayisayi who led most of the singing and drove all the way from the South of England together with John Burke with the drums and other equipment for the Vigil.  All who attended are also thanked very much for coming on such a cold and windy day.
