ZHRO Successfully Protests the planned return of Green Bombers
Members of the Zimbabwe Human Rights Organisation (ZHRO) met on Wednesday 15th September 2021 at the Zimbabwe Embassy in London to protest the Gazetted plans by the Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (ZANU PF) to bring back the youth militia popularly known as the Green Bombers.
They met outside 429 the Strand London to show their anger and dismay that a group that committed hinious acts of terror as late as 2008 and who’s actions led to the United Nations Security Council nearly taking military action against Zimbabwe is being reformed.
The Green Bombers who are also known as the Border Ghezi youths were trained in Mount Darwin at a former army barracks, where at the time young girls were gang raped by boys and young men and the youths were plied with copious amounts of alcohol and heavy mind bending drugs that were imported by top ZANU PF party members.
The pre and post election violence that took place made front page headlines all over the world in international NEWS papers and TV Media houses such as CNN, Washington Post, The U.K. Guardian, The Times of England, BBC World and BBC U.K., Aljazeera News Network to name a few and led to the introduction of the strictest and harshest Sanctions against the Ruling ZANU PF Elite from the United States of America for Gross Human Rights Violations.
Those in attendance were Edony Kingston, Tapiwa Muskwe, Kingstone Jambawo and Thabo Makuyana. As part of the Vigil Protest Thabo Makuyana acted as the camera person and recorded the views of those in attendance as they went to great pains to explain the reasons for the protest. Kingstone Jambawo and Ebony Kingston had a constructive conversation about the concerns of the reintroduction of the Green Bombers and Tapiwa Muskwe went to great lengths to give his views regarding the manner in which ZANU PF abuse Zimbabweans and especially what he thinks will happen to people after more Green Bombers are trained.
Some of the views are available in the short videos attached. Fuller versions of the same videos will likely be made available at a later date.
ZHRO Vigil meets every Wednesday at 11am at 429 The Strand London, near Charing Cross Main line and Underground Tube Stations.
ZHRO and the progressive thinking people of Zimbabwe would like to thank all those who contribute in all their different ways to try and bring real change, for the people of Zimbabwe.
