Tears of a Broken woman
#EnoughisEnough
Last week
in Zimbabwe, one of the MDC (Movement for Democratic Change) (Zimbabwe’s main
opposition party) youth Sekai Marashe aka Muchaina (pictured) was brutalised
and assaulted. Where is the woman’s
rights? Where is the protection and
where is the democracy? Those in power,
in the government are meant to protect the woman. Instead, they spread malicious lies. Dr Energy Mudoti a prominent ZANU PF minister
tweeted, “no matter how democratic our government can be, we can never
guarantee that drunkards & prostitutes stop fighting”. For a minister to stoop that low in attack of
a vulnerable young woman instead of protecting her is gut wrenchingly sickening. He is using his platform and authority to discredit
the crying, the broken and the vulnerable.
Not Just
Sekai but also a well-known comedian, Samatha Kureya aka “Gonyeti,” who uses
her talent, humour, wit and her platform to be an activist against the Zanu pf regime
was abducted, tortured, threatened and told to stop and not speak of it. They broke her but she will fight on and the
National News paper, The herald has gone and published her full name and
address to continue the intimidation.
The same
Zanu pf minister is trying to use Gonyeti’s comic nature by lying. He implies that she was not attacked but is
doing a skit for her coming show, by lying helpless in a hospital bed. He tweeted, “Gonyeti Gonyeti did a comedy on
police accommodation & it’s apparent she has done another one on
abductions. We will not be fooled.”
ZANU Pf
and it’s thugs are really trying to fool everyone and silence everyone. I say Enough of you breaking our sisters and mothers. All they are trying to do is stand up for
what is right. They are trying to be a
voice for the voiceless. Let’s expose this
brutality enough of this brokenness, enough of those tears. Just as FGM is a crime and is not tolerated
in the UK, the State Brutalisation of Women cannot be condoned. Save the humanity of our woman #enoughisenough

I am
calling on my Sisters and Mothers in the UK to stand by my side, firstly to
protest against the Zimbabwean State sanctioned Outward Trade Mission to UK and
Business to Business meetings on Monday 2nd of September in the UK,
at Amba Hotel, Charing Cross, London and call it for what it is. It is a Zimbabwean State Sanctioned crime
against Humanity. Secondly I am calling
on all my Sisters and Mothers in the rest of the world to protest wherever they
can, especially at the United Nations Later this Month, against giving a podium
to a Dictator called Mnangagwa for allowing the brutalisation of Women.
